Ten Moons...? Pregnancy is now typically dated by LMP (Last Menstrual Period) and ultrasound dating, but it has also been marked by the cycles of the moon since before modern technology made its advent. Moon cycles provide a natural timeline for tracking the progress of a pregnancy--from the moon of the last menses before conception to the birth of a baby is typically ten full (or new) moons.
